The personality of the Coton de Tulear requires human companionship, this breed does not do well left alone for long periods of time. Avoid kenneling or crating for long periods time, except for vacations or house training. Keep a radio or TV on for human companionship at a reasonable sound level. Choose a gentle radio station or playlist, like PBS, spiritual, or classical. Calming music will soothe your dog and inhibit seperation anxiety. It is important to note that this breed is not suited to live as an outdoor dog. They will bark if left unattended and allowed to get bored. Lives very well with other animals for companions. All of our puppies are fully socialized and live in our home until they are placed with their new family.
